This will be my new unrelated to anything else final post.
What kind of book did i read? I read books that had adventure, danger, fear, overcoming, anger, sadness, confussion, hope, a sense of place. The books that i read are ones that i as a human being i can relate to. Ecotopia gave me most of these in one package. the turner diaries blue off steam. Red Badge of courag was a adventure, these book kept me turning pages and wanted to read it and "pick it all up" as fast as i could. I hoped you enjoyed reading me blog.

Goodbye.

sincerly

The turner diaries by andrew macdonald (Dr. William Pierce)
A hate novel that has inspired many white supremises groups, I was a little curious to see what all the fuss was about. The story is about a man named earl turner who apart of something called the organization turner keep a diary of his explots and of his thoughts. It follows him from when he goes underground in the early 1990's to when he kills himself in a nuclear blast of the pentagon and it covers everything inbetween from taking over southern california to bombings all over the country as he is a techincal expert. when the straight up neo nazi propaganda isn't being used and if you can get past it, its not that bad of a read although it is kind of outdated. Turner goes from fear of being caught, the "hope" that he sees in california, to peace that he makes before his final mission. I would only recomend it to a strong reader who could deal with conterversal material.
The things they carried by tim o'brian
A semi auto biography by vietnam war vet time o'brian, the story follows a fictional version of himself and mad up commerads through part of the war. Set when the men fough but used drugs, drank, and looked very vietnam warish. Terror at the thought of dying is obiously expersed, but the first few pages are basically list of stuff they carried along to live and then what they took because they couldn't live without it. Its different from red badge of courage as this is about mainly blue collar kids who want to get out alive and nothing more. Combat stories are lacking ass kicking and are more prone to be quick terrifing flashes.
The Outsiders
A story of rich vs poor set in the early 60's is a dramatic mixing of various elemits of various novels. A talented kid, poneyboy, who parents died when there car was hit by a train is rasied by his older and very tough older brother Darrel and his younger more fun bro sodapop. His brothers have an aspec of there parents while he has none. After being involved in a fatal stabing of a rich boy who was drowning him and feering being taken away from the only family he got, ponyboy and a friend run away with the help of another friend. Hiding in a chruch after changing there looks they stay there awhile until another friend who gave them a gun and some cash to hid out with tells them when the heat is off. After a car ride they find that a group of kids have accidently lite the chruch on fire. Ponyboys friends save them although they are greatly injured in the process. Reunited with his brothers at the hospital Ponyboyd his friends and brothers then have a climatic fight with the rich kids using info from a rich girl whos a friend of ponyboys. After the fight both of the boys involved with the fire are killed, when passes away the other can't deal with it, robs a store, and commits suicide by cop. The story ends with ponyboy writting the story.

A coming of age story  with love, loss, fear, ect.
Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crain
A war noevel written in the mid 1890's was claimed by civil war vets to be so authentic that they claimed that Crain must have been there which of course he hadn't as he had been born after the war ended. The story tells of a young union soldier going in untest into the battle of chanslervill. Fear stricks in a figh and he runs away then feeling shame after trying to convince himself with what he did was okay. As he wanders the battle field he is enraged when he sees another retreat he knocked unconious, when he wakes he returns to his unit and the next goes on a rampage firing at the enemy and taking the flag and charging them (a dangerious act to do). Crain highlests the emotions, horror, and glory of the american civil war and wrote a novel that would enspire another generation to fight the spanish.
BORDER SONGS by Jim Lynch.
Set along the washington/BC border and focusing mainley on a "extermly disslecics"  but very large border patrol agent and his family,co workers, and nieghbors. Although extermly good with animals his diary farm running farmer gets his son to go into the boder patrol using a favor from the local commander of the boder patrol. Medicorer and using a partner to get by Brandon Vanderkool suddenly becomes the best agent in northwest washington finding and arresting drug runners and illegale migrants from canada. Hes then faced with a friend from childhood whos working on the other side of the law. With his mother slipping into demencia and his father going god knows what brandon leaves after thing settle down, even after he catches more drug runners on his farm.
The higest tide is a coming of age story, a young boy grows up very, very fast. This starts because of his late night adventures in the tidal flats of puget sound. Miles goes from a sort and a little angry red head kid to a marine bio super star in about 1 month, although extermly knowledgeable about ocean life he doesn't see the invasive species and thinks its werid stuff coming out of the sea. (another aspcet of boyhood, using the first thing that comes to your head, and its usaually not right). With his best or clostet thing to a best friend, a gressy, seattle grunge punk, his old babysitter who a total grunge stoner (he also has a crush on here, big suprise), a marine biooligist whos the doc brown type (of back to the future), and the old fortune teller peal, a good friend and just about the only point of sanity in his insaine world. He also has to deal with a mariner fanatic/obessed about his height dad, and his somewhat distant mother as well. Filled with the emotions of love, loss, anger, fright, confussion, worry, and confusion. I highly recomend this book (i may post some lines from this book). Oh and he also has to deal with fame and media attention and a cult which takes an interest in him.
To make up for lost time and to make it easy on myself, i'll be doing a mini review per each book, i have a good memory about that sort of thing.
To start his little crazy adventure miles heads out to the tide lands in search of sea creatures to sell for cash. Thinking of how little people know of the sea except for real sailors and fishermen, and how stupide people who say bays are lakes and wouldn't know a damn thing if a map was in front of there faces. His room is above the detached garage with a bathroom closet.

The sea, unknown, dark, mysterious. For as long as boys have seen the sea myths and exploring have taken place. Such adventures still take place today in places like the pacific northwest. In southern Puget sound a young boy named miles comes to cope in the bays to escape from his crazy (although be it semi normal) life on shore. Miles is a "genius" in oceanography (he learned it because of his short height making him shy). One ordinary night in the bay at low tide will set off a crazy series of events that will have a wow type ending.

WELL ECOTOPIAS OVER, I HOPED YOU ENJOYED IT  AND I SINCERLY HOPE YOU READ IT, THERES A PREQUALE TO IT CALLED ECOTOPIA EMERGING, I DON'T KNOW IF I WILL USE THAT BOOK AS IT MAY BE HARD TO POST ON IT.
TO CONTINUE IN MY LITERRARY EXPLORATION OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST, THE NEXT BOOK WILL BE "THE HIGHEST TIDE BY JIM LYNCH" ITS GONNA COME HARD AND FAST IN BIG POST TO MAKE UP FOR LOST TIME.
Finally got a meeting with Adlwen, seems like a warm communist leader, she said that limited trade is exceptable, although she was vage on what they would like to purches, (most likey natural resources that Ecotopians needs but do not have, and other stuff like weapons, but i can only guess on this). Trading would also burn off excess of iteams like Ecotopian wine and other products. She asked me about secerity for Ecotopian post in American Citys, most of the unress has been caused by them in the south and great lakes regions where they may be funding other sessionest movements. No hope for reunification. After that she instisted that we talk as human beings.

I went back to the cove and pasted everybody as i went upstairs to work on the story. This has really got me down, the hole trip seems like a waste of time. Im now stick as a dog, i just want to be alone for awhile. I can't say goodbye to anybody, i threw a few things in my suitcase, i could go out the way i came in, or go out by LA?

I'VE BEEN KIDNAPED! As I was packing four people came into my room i thought they were the Ecotopian mafia, i was sure that they were sent to kill me. Instead they just walked me out the door by everybody, they did nothing, and neither did i. A howl bunch of thoughts went through me head and i yelled out a bunch of stuff. They took me to a hot springs, and after locking me in that area for a couple of day i came to the realization that i want, need, and will stay in Ecotopia. There was a BIG party when i got back to the cove, as Ecotopians are great at impromt to celibrations.

EPILOUGE
Dear Reader I was sent to write the howl story, but i realized once i had gotten into it, that i couldn't really do that. so i am making this post. I've decided not to come back. I hope you understand from these postings. Thank you for sending me on this assignment. when neither you nor i knew where it might lead. It lead me home. -Adam
I got in a fight with one of the people at the co-op. Editing each others work is a big deal and he got really upset when I turned it in without him being able to check it out. We talked until we got back on the right foot, it really hurt me to have someone mad at me, I was starting to make friends. Missing the kids more on this trip. God knows why, I pass up time at home and make it up with toys and whatnot, I haven't bought them anything here though, I don't think they would want anything from here. I don't think they and jenny would get along anyway. I spoke with a kid at the cove, his mother was gone, and I asked him if he was only. He said why would he be only. What would the lives of the kids be like if they where born in Ecotopia? It scares me for them to grow to fast, I want them to be protected. Rubber comes from Vietnam and Indonesia, some stuff from japan, Preforms preform all over the world except the US. Money here has natural images on them. Heavy Viking style timber beds are the norm for beds. Some have jap style bedrolls. A lot of work must have happened to kept thing quite, you can barley hear a damn thing. During a major party downtown I got wasted and followed two girls into a tent-awesome! I asked jenny over dinner My attitude is changging, its getting stofter. The lumber camp gets is food from a farm co op 15 miles from here. Most stores here stell preserved food, clothes and other good at really cheap prices. Needed to get a new tooth brush, got a lot of crap for it. While i was buying it i saw a group of teenagers gillging at everything in the store, its an "anquie" store to them, to use its normal (if the stuff we use was in a anquie store). One really annoying thing people do here is entertain each other. I got dragged into this, i told them as much about america as i could, it shut them up after awhile. I wish we could have used the tv for that though. The fights are getting more emotional, bitter, and physical. Me and jenny got into another one of are incodents, a fight over something stuiped then we brake down and confess are love bla bla bla. I participated in a war game, got injured, and now i'm in a Ecotopian hospital, thats what get for fighting with a bunch of jounralist. The docs here arn't the most reassuring when you first see them, but they still do there job well. Sex is apart of the healing process here, and i got one good lookin nurse named linda. Hospitals here fucking rock!

Monday, March 3, 2014

I was talking with jenny later on, she said that she liked me because i'm serious (not exactly what an american girl would say but ill take it). we did you know what after that. (that was great because i thought my eye balls were about to pop out). Apparently Ecotopian relationships are "open" but i don't think ill use that. We were sort of talking about it got on to my wife, i told her i thought she was the one, but it turned out to be a woman i had two kids with. Most of the Ecotopians i know like to make fun of how the US can blow a guy and all the guys around up from the atomsphere and yet we arn't cool with a bayonet. This comes about when i mock the ritual war games. God jenny is strong in so many ways. I made arragngements to see a war game north of here. I was writing on a piece of paper and she starts saying all this crap about how im using it and i crummpled it up and threw it at here, we both broke down laughing. She sees me in the fast changging light between a american and just a guy writing. I had to leave the next, i didn't really want to but getting away would be nice. Jennys coming down tomarrow night so it won't be so bad. Its nice to be back at the cove, everybody looks over my work and helps me with it (sort of like at home). Got in a little trouble for that meeting at the bar. Tv here is filled with news all of it from a geographical stand point points toward asia. This tends to be blamed on americans. Even doing the fucking dishes here is different, it took 4 times as long but it was kind of fun. Of course everybody made fun of me when i acutally worked on cleaning up. I change whenever i'm around jenny. I loose track of time, i act like an Ecotopian- sort of, I think im starting to fall in love with her, she sees through my bull shit and sees the good under it. I think shes starting to feel the same way to. We went sailing on the bay yesterday, with her brother(one of the few guys in Ecotopia that i've seen who acts like has a pair, he also hates my guts for being an american and i guess for dating his sister.) Boats filled the very productive bay.
Journal for the entire trip: a look back
I've been working way to hard. After weeks here and writing report after report, this is the first time i've sat down to write. So many thing have happened, seeing deer killed just outside of cities. The lectures on everything have gotten real old real fast. Iron is the only metal that can be found except for a little aluminum and some other metals like it. Vehicals still have rubber tires, cavities are stil filled with sliver, concrete is still used to a limited degree. People here are way to emotional. I saw a fight between a coulpe in the hallway and it looked like they were going to kill each other and then they broke down in each others arms. This kind of act is not uncommon. Work and play are intermixed. This entire nation seems to be self suffiecient. Natural "time" is more often kept than using a watch. The hotel was okay for awhile then it got boring, a reports co-op down by the water has taken me in, there good people and the've made me feel at home. We talk about a varitey of topics in a comfortable settting. I was talking to a guy and said "doesn't this stable state get borning after a while?". The guy I was talking to is kind of a wander, and hes worked for a bunch of papers all over. Women out here have been a totally different game, its been a couple of day and I still havn't gotten laid yet, these women are so werid. Some rare good news is that no bodycares that i'm an american.

I met at a bar with some opposition guys, they were desparate to get me to get them help from washinton. They at least wanted to improve the economic system. They were also freaked out about war with the US, they know what we did to vietnam and now to brazil, and they really don't want it to happen. They also said that the nukes in NYC and DC might be bluffs. They arn't really "progressives" and they say that the "progressives" are almost as bad as the survivalist. They told me that they were willing to fight, something most ecotopians don't seem ready or able to do. Most of them were productive country club types in there 50's or young, hot head, resentful, and dangerious.

A woman met me at the train station to me to the forest camp, i assumed that she was some pr rep but as it turn out she work in the camp, Shes a great scandinvian girl or so i would guess (her names jenny), exterme curvs, redish brown hair, and she had the bluest eyes ever (a least i think thats what color it is) and a little shorter than me. she said something about this being her home as we walked to the camp that basically a few shacks. The people asked me a bunch of questons including what my favorit tree was i responded red cedar or alder, that sure started something. As they were asking the questons i looked them in the eye and gave a short answer to keep up with all of them. Ecotopians have a rediculuss policy about working in forestry camps when you need wood. They where shocked to learn that i barley stayed with my wife and kids and that my favorit activity was work.

WORK AND PLAY AMONG THE ECOTOPIANS
Gilroy Hot Springs, June 22. An unexpected deture has lead me to a unexpected artical. The more I disscover about Ecotopian work habits the more I am amazed about how the 20 hour work week works. Its impossible to tell the difference. Somebody will bring out beer or pot and a party will start right there. I've talked with people on the street for 10 min and then the guy mencens hes working and walks off. Unemployment bothers no one and income has only slightly dropped. Jobs became plentiful after independence. Living standards also changed so the affect was not felt. Fixing thing is a passion in Ecotopia, prehaps its the diseire to reuse old crap.

ECOTOPIA: CHALLENGE OR ILLUSION?
San Francisco, June 19. Where is Ecotopias going in the future? After six weeks in this strange country I can't even guess. Water and air are cystal clear, social experiments have worked on a bio level. Land is well cared for and productive, food is pleniful, wholesome, and recognizable. The health and general well being of the people are undeniable. This soceity could go on forever. THis extrem dexentralization and ecotional epenness are extermly strange. However the lifestyle here with its drawbacks could never function in american society. Cities have almost become city states and there's further talk about racial oncalves. It is difficult to campare there racial system to ares with the failiers of 60's having grown society to be even more segrigated and somewhat less equale. The Ecotopian model of small second class states with small petty cultural differences have shattered the greatness of sea to shining sea. Instead of continuing the long march to world piece as america has dedicated itself to on the battlefields of Korea, Vietnam, Brazil, and even on are own soil. Ecotopians have turned there nation toward medievil europe or even jungle tribes. Ecotopians say that this way of life allows for a bio/cultural niche.

This is just a note, Ecotopian plastics have been used to make homes and other small one story buildings for various proposes.

SEPARATIONS OF FUNCTIONS: RESEARCH AND TEACHING IN ECOTOPIA
Berkley June9. American universities have combined both teaching and reashearch to the degrigation of both. Ecotopians have separated the two to the benifit of both. Labs are small and often near either colleges or natural sites. (The use of teloscpoes are much more usbale now to due the lack of view blocking pollution). The sizes of these labratories rang from 3 to 100 people. One introstesting project has turned many natural iteams into liqur for heating and cooking. Oil is only used for lubrication and those oils are from veggies. One marine outfit is trying to understand dolphin! Students hire full time teachers and live in former office buildings.

ECOTOPIAN MUSIC, DANCE, OTHER ARTS
San Francisco, June 10. With the blur between amature and professonal in science there is almost no descintion in the arts. Almost everybody here does some kind of art for recreation, but few try to do it for a living as compared to the US where many young people choose "art" for a career. A good thing about Ecotopian art is when its bad it is rejected. Apparentl if art is someting everybody does a picasso or a van gogh no longer seem quite so special. Music is respective to race, expects for whites who tend to dabble in a little of everything, but also tend to put out more in rock or country. Theres some internation following but like everything else here, its mainly demestic.

HOSPITALS AND HEALTH CARE: THE ECOTOPIAN WAY
San Francisco, June 1. A accident has given me a chance to experience the Ecotopians medical system first hand. Ecotopian hospitals are small and highly personal and there not that bad to be in. Everything is clean and well cared for hear. The health care system covers from cradel to grave. Clinics tend to everybody on a day to day basis with hospitals covering more serious issues. Her everybody seems to due everything to keep touch with medical and personal needs. For instance babies are typically delivered at home by midwives or nurses except in more serious cases. Terminally ill pacients are not kept alive except for with natural medicens. The system fouces on preventive care. Psychiatry is combined with medical care, as my doc took a great interest in my medical state. Mental illness has declined but its hard to measure the affect. Ecotopians have a feeling of never being along, but they can issolate themselves when they want to.

To make up for lost time, I am now only doing the reports, so no more journals entry's
ENERGY FROM SUN AND SEA
Punta Gorda, May 31, Ecotopians get there power from the sea, such as the sea water following through there solar panles that increase the power. The old nuclear plants have had there safety quardourpled with the hot water pipes being extened a mile out to sea. New power plants that don't pollute are not a popular idea because of power lines. Geothermal power has expaned, as well as other types of hydro, solar, tital, wind,  and ocean power sources. Lou swift is the predominate leader in Ecotopias power.

COMMUNICATIONS IN ECOTOPIA: PRESS, TV AND PUBLISHING
San Francisco, June2. Being a reporter, naturally I want to know about Ecotopia media. While San Francisco use to have about 6 large media outlets, now it enjoys many smaller ones. Of course after independence media was broken up. Printing here is widspread and public as even school childern can do it.

ECOTOPIAN EDUCATIONS SURPRISES
San Francisco, June4. Schools could not be more different. One teacher told me that there school system is "biology" dominated (theres look like farms), while ares are dominated by physics as she told me. There is no school office, there are about a half dozen teachers who teach until they feel the lesson is done, as there is no bell. The skills of hunting, fishing, farming, woodworking, naturalist, bioligist, and other "natural" professions are learned. There is only one hour of real education per day. Working on looms or in factorys are done for about two hours a day. Older kids seem to teach younger kids and to sum the school system up is to say that it is daily ecotopian life in a learning manner.
WOMEN IN POWER: POLITICIANS, SEX, AND LAW IN ECOTOPIA (OH SHIT!)
San Francisco, May 27, The dictator or should I say bitchtator is Vera Allwen leader of the female survivolist party. Meeting have no agenda but concernes are voiced. Although this government may seem like a power crazy regiem like the naizs it acutally has a bill of rights based on are own (although its original form would be unsutable to Americans). The evils of armys of lawyers have not escaped ecotopia as they are as plagued with them as we are.  The only real crime in ecotopia is pollution so american criminals come on over because its a free for all as long as you don't pollute. Public pressure has caused industrys to go clean, but the Ecotopian government did go off the deep end in regulation. Ecotopians are almost devoted to water as they are to trees as waterways have become major factors in daily life.

WORKERS CONTROL, TAXES, AND JOBS IN ECOTOPIA
San Francisco, May 28. This Economy is communal, and it works better than ares. Capital fled after the revolution along with a few thousand people. The people took over the bussiness, this was chaotic but not anarchic. Taxes are state based and over everyone. The Ecotopian arms establishment is about the size of canadas.

RACE IN ECOTOPIA APARTHEID OR EQUALITY?
San Francisco, May 29, I havn't seen many non white people, I have just now learned why. After independence minority groups moved into racial onclaves, such as the historic chinatown, east bay (the black community), and other racial onclaves have become city-states with there only real interaction with the nation being on forigen policy. A few prefere to live outside these areas. There have been proposals to move the black community to a valley bordering california. These communities, and espesically the black community seem more open to the world, I even saw a few nice cars. Income is higher, because as one man told me "were making up for lost time".  After independence  those who commited "non-crimes" under Ecotopia law were released. The black community has lead exports from ecotopia and has brought in swahili and they have sent aid to blacks in south africa. In south africa whites cause the segrigation here the black do it.
DECLINE WITHOUT FALL? THE ECOTOPIAN POPULATION CHALLENGE
San Francisco May 20, Ecotopias population is declining slowly for about 15 years in a human way. The slow growth rate was reversed with education about birth control and abortion with life style and economic changes. This caused the population to drop by 17,000 while Americans grew by 3 million. American of course believe that only good can come from growth. The nuclear familys that americans have grown accusomed to have largley dissapered in favor of a clan based system often living in large old buildings. Men and women share in everything equally here (although I have noticed that women DO hold more power). Sexual  relationships are about the same with them as it is with us.

SSAVAGERY RESTORED: ECOTOPIA'S DARK SIDE
Marshall-by-the-bay, May 24, I have now seen the ritual war games. A group of Young men with about 25 on each side fight each other in the middle of a field. They hacked away at each other like idiots, when one of them was injured, the games ended and the cilibration began, I walked over and talked to the wounded man, a bunch of what i would guess would be nurses were tending to him. We talked and when I tired to get a picture, everybody freaked out. They say that this is an outlet for men, instead of war or violent crime. They pointed out that we use cars for this purpose. Only 50 die each year from it.

THEIR PLASTICS AND OURS
San Francisco, May 25. Theres a thing about Ecotopia, when you think that you can't be shocked anymore, you get shocked even more. This "shock" came to me when I discovered how much plastics Ecotopians used. Of course its biodegradable (And everyquickly biodegradable). It comes in every type and its made from living biological organisms (plants and such). Since almost all waste (except for 1%) is biodegradable ecotopian "trash" is dropped on the ground trampled upon and its returned to the soil. The metal industry is scraped based.

THE ECOTOPIAN ECONOMY: FRUIT OF CRISIS
The rumor that Ecotopians are lazy after hearing about the 20 hour work week. This however has given a great deal more jobs. The Ecotopians destroyed the old economy after independence and put the workforce back to work removing the old and building the new. There where some discomforts, and major companies had to beg for money after being use to dominating politics,  but there was no real pain.

IN ECOTOPIA'S BIG WOODS
I have noted many times before in my reports wood is a major building resource here. Both rural and urban people love trees. They almost have a fetish for it. Reforestation programs have supplied a constant environmentally friendly supply of lumber. Forestry camps have replanted thousands of acres of trees. There's no clear cutting, and forest are mixed.  People who wish to use wood in Ecotopia have to work in the forestry camps to make up for there impact. There's a lot of goofing off but when they do work  they did as sacred work. Electric tractors do most of the heavy work with almost no impact on the land. The camps have log cutting machines but not there not sawmills. Lumber is bought from mills in more open areas and are solely for domestic consumption. Diesel truck are still used but people argue about it. Farms and ranches are still doing fine even with all this.
THE UNSPORTING LIFE OF ECOTOPIA
No sports! Baseball, Football, basketball all gone! "Sport pages" still "exist" if you can call it that but they cover weird sports Skiing, cross-country, tennis, hiking/camping/hunting/fishing, table tennis, volleyball and other god awful individual sports are covered. Almost everyone here is extremely fit due to there natural lifestyle and lack of cars. Schools are have children outside most of the time, learning skills and things about nature. Hunting fills freezers with meat in many homes. "War games" fill the male need for violence no more information.

ECOTOPIAN TV AND ITS WARES
TV in Ecotopia is a interactive high tech communication device much like a phone it allows people to interact with each other. TV does not Ecotopians, Ecotopians rule TV here. A decent thing here that commercials are mere announcements. There are special but expensive adapter that can pick up American TV. Consumer items like electric can openers, hair curlers, frying pans, carving knifes,
Of course TV shows a lot of nature. TV has become Ecotopian here. Ecotopians have little more than what they need both at home and when they travel. Things here are simple and people then fix there own items.
FOOD, WASTE, AND STABLE  STATE.

Ecotopia has a minister of food, yes, food, nothing else. (Although the department does over ag). Keeping in with its "green" way of life the food here is green to, literally. Instead of getting an interview the secretary herself, I got a assistant deputy, who lectured me in the worst office I've ever seen. More like a lab than a office.  The man was non impressive those this kind of position, but that Ecotopia for you. We sat down on cushions on the sunny floor and he starts talking about waste. Everything after independence, waste, scrapes, everything went into a recycling system and dumped back on the fields as organic fertilizer. This of course was expensive and they were called "sewer socialist". But as with every word I've said in this country, I got a free lecture with this to about how its better than are system. And then it moved on to food. After independent production was scaled down and became organic. This to came like a lecture.  This system is moral and the food does taste good and its not expensive. I asked him about what part of civilization they were going to destroy next he responded by saying he would only respond to food related questions.

CAR-LESS LIVING IN ECOPTOPIA'S NEW TOWNS
Life has become urbanized or is now in rural capacity. Electric vehicles are made in cities and then bring food in from the country. These vehicles are made in workshop type style NOT in a assembly style manner. Factories are surrounded by neighborhoods with library's, bakeries, and other such things. Almost everything here is made out of the now plentiful wood resources. These wooden constructions are surrounded by various types of greenery. Streets are named NOT numbered. Food is brought home in bags or bikes. Large numbers of people are able to fit into very small areas. The water here is crystal clear and clean. Fishing and swimming take place right of the dock. Manufacturing here is easy and lighthearted. Living conditions have turned old suburbs into highly packed but compact areas filled with natural areas.

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

due to mistakes on my behalf, I will now be combining report and journal entry's to make up for the loss of work. Ecotopia is entrancing that work is not really an option (I'm following the ecotopain 20 hour work week and I've been barred from working until now)
ONE A NONE BLOGGING NOT FROM ADAM HAUSKINS REAL WORLD/CLASSMATE, THE NEXT BOOK I WILL BE BLOGGING ABOUT IS THE HIGHEST TIDE BY JIM LYNCY. (P.S. BOLD AND CAPITAL MEANS ITS ACUTALLY ME COMMUNITCATING).

Journey To Ecotopia
On board US flight 26 NYC to Reno May 3. As I start is adventure I head to the last American city before the mountains and Ecotopia. Time as healed the wound between the US and Ecotopia. The model of successful secession has been tired with mixed results around the world. The counter example is the union of the Scandinavian countries, who were practically one people already. The shortage of Western goods of fruit, lettuce, wine, cotton, paper, lumber and other western goods products what came after the break up of the former states of Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. This has added to the Economic troubles of the United States. Ecotopia is Americas opposite, we grow are population and wealth, Ecotopia stays stable. Many rumors abound about Ecotopia, such as no death by pollution. The death in the united states has declined but still remains at a tragic number. My job for the next 6 weeks is to explore Ecotopia and find out as much of it as possible.

Reno has become a shithole. Without California gambling went to Vegas. Asked around about Ecotopia people here are indifferent to Ecotopia, I talked to a cowboy who say that he and some of his friends have gone over the mountains passes to get girls, he says they friendly but they all have guns. Not surprisingly Ecotopia is extremely casual, thank god for jeans and wool t shirts.

WEST OF BORDER
I am now riding an Ecotopia train from Tahoe to San Francisco, the first American to do so. No planes are allowed over  Ecotopia except for 1 airport that allows planes to come in to Ecotopia, although it is 40 miles from the city. Flights into Ecotopia  go over water routs. Flights heading to Hawaii go via LA. The train system here is fast and constant. The frontier is a rustic with a  wooden gate that a ford truck could easily take down. A small stone building is the guard house. Two young men in unimpressive uniforms checked my papers and duffle bag, they did not find my 45 thank god.
I think the guy say a slight sillowet of my gun because he told how safe

A small stone building is the guard house. Two young men in unimpressive uniforms checked my papers and duffle bag, they did not find my 45. The guy must have saw a something that resembled my gun because he told my how safe  Ecotopia is. He then handed me a booklet for tourist, it was nice with its artwork in it. The guard said in a friendly tone "relax it's a free country" "my friend I've been in a hell of a lot stranger place than this country and I relax when I feel like it. If your finished with my paper, I'll be on my way" I grabbed my duffle bag and started on a 20 mile hike to train station, as I had a feeling that if my taxi crossed I would get another lecture that I was in no mood for. It was a nice day, it was late afternoon when I arrived at
the train station. A large Wooden building with the feeling of a ski lodge. The trains are small and run out of the basement. The train cars had no seats, but plenty of plants, which all people aboard could identify in Latin.  The train also featured recycling bins which everybody used correctly. Latter on some skiers came aboard with long wooden skies. Boeing has made these trains after the break up and at the orders of the  Ecotopian government.  These trains run a few inches above the ground, powered by magnet, with large viewing windows, with lush carpets on the floor. When the trains stop they stop for about a minuet and then of they go. And as the train went we go to farming country. These farms are small and quaint, made out of stone and resemble European farms rather than those of Iowa or New England. With livestock grazing in open fields.

Ecotopians appear to be out of the gold rush. The streets have creeks running down them. Odd hats, weird hair, jackets, vests, legging, tights, and I think I saw a cod piece? Embroidery is common with small shells or feathers or patchwork, they reuse most of there clothes. The people here are what you might say um "overemotional" women stair into your eyes on the street. Emotions run very strong here. The anonymity that allows us to live together has been replaced by Ecotopians being demanded to be treated like people instead of machines.

THE STREETS OF ECOTOPIA'S CAPITAL CITY SAN FRANCISCO
San Francisco, May 5, Walking out of the train station into the new city of San Francisco, Ecotopia, NOT Sand Francisco, USA. The first thing I notice was how quite it is. Nothing that is heard in an American city is heard hear. I grabbed my duffle bag and headed out to see the new San Francisco.
Racks filled with a free painted bikes dot the city, trees fill the city, creeks run down the street, electricity seems to power the PUBLIC transportation which is also crossed with bumper cars, news stands sell a variety of reading materials, public art also decorates the streets.  Every time I tell someone I'm an American and ask a question they have me a lecture, and there a total douche about it to, they call it "social cost". The streets are still full of people, not in the American sense but packed non the less. The once office buildings have become residential, there filled with family's, the suburban track having been sacked for raw materials and converted info rural land. Denim, fur, leather, sandals, and gypsy skirts for women, are the clothing one sees on the streets.

My hotel room old but it has running water and electricity so its not that bad. The toilet is the old fashioned wooden pull handle with the tank above. Surprisingly the phone in the room is better than are own. The matters sucks but the comforter is fantastic.

NEXT ASSIGNEMENT: ECOTOPIA

The Atlantic Daily is happy to announce that Adam Hauskins our top international affairs reporter, will spend the next six weeks in Ecotopia, beginning next week. This opportunity has been made possible by the President of the United States. This is the first official visit of an American to Ecotopia since relations were cut off after independence. This is sending Hauskins on this unique and strange assignment to see how this part of the world, once near and dear has changed in 40 years.

Here we go again, this journal will keep my personal story of my adventure in Ecotopia.
The President is sending on this little adventure, a top correspondent of a liberal east coast news agency, if he gets killed then we have a excuse of military action, if he gets info on them then what can they do to him? The war hawks on both sides of the isle have been screaming for war to retake western lands.  The acts that Ecotopia has taken has given new life to the confederate secessionist in the south and plain states and parts of the Midwest. The President must be determined to stop this from going. The President has also informed me to inform the Ecotopian government that the US wishes for reunification. Must off of the topic of secession and nukes in NYC and DC. I'm not looking forward to being around there government and those crazy broads that run it. How the hell they won will forever be beyond my ability to know as the had no military force or stomach for blood.  Its getting harder to go on a trip now, the kids asked to go along, you can't take two kids under 10 into Ecotopia. Pat must have put them up to that, I'll have to talk to here about that. No more Nat for 8 weeks its nice to get away for a while she's worse than pat sometimes but she's still there when I get back. Extremely limited communications with the outside world, kind of looking forward to it. This could be a dangerous assignment, ecotopian are hot heads and cops don't have guns, nor is anybody allowed to have a gun.

For now on I will be posting as if I was William Weston in Ecotopia. All the post will be "Articles" along with a "private journal" (in italics). I will also take some liberty's in updating this and making changes to the plot where I see fit.

Coming soon Ecotopia by Ernest Callenbach !
First up, Ecotopia by Ernest Callenbach!
Written in the 1970's, in the American literary dream area of moving past the ills of the 70's and looking forward to a brighter future (most looking forward to the 1990's). Callenbach novel focus on the diary and reports of an American report in a fictional country made up of the former pacific northwest of the united states. The main character is an American reporter named Williams Weston. in the 20 years since independence the pacific northwest has transformed into a totally separate nation. No American has had a official visit to Ecotopia since it achieved independence. Being a reporter Weston is curious but not sympathetic at first. A point that is made in this novel is that a strangest culture can be the one just a few counties over or in this case a COUNTRY next door. Weston sheds his suit for the more casual clothing of Ecotopia in order to gain a understanding of them in a classic example of a fish out of water. This little Expedition had been arranged for Weston by the U.S. Gov. His goal is to get an interview with the president of Ecotopia Vera Allwen. Weston explores a strange nation in it's capital of San Francisco, and explores such strange things as the clothing, food policy's, hotel rooms, tech, customs and people who's smugness makes pollution seem bearable. Weston eventually moves in with a journalism co-op gaining a sort of Ecotopian surget family. He also falls for a girl who's brother was apart of the revolution and is also a total ass.
